     : : : Goodbye, Ah Ma : : :

5th November 2009, 12.06pm, Ah Ma (grandma) has boarded her bus, bus to nirvana.

A week before, Ah Ma has been struck by stroke 3 times. The 1st 2 times when the stroke hit, Ah Ma didn't had any serious injury caused by the stroke, she is still ok, able to walk and eat and talk etc, and she didn't felt that she has been hit by a stroke and luckily enough my Godmom (aunt) is a nurse, so she knew what to do when the stroke 1st hit and took care of Ah Ma. The 3rd stroke came and left Ah Ma in a coma, where she was unable to move any part of her body, speak, or even open her eyes. She was still able to hear what we were talking and responded to our question by a very weak blink on her eyes.

Ah Ma has made her wish clear that what ever happens to her, never to send her to hospital (she doesn't like going there), just let her be and let nature takes its course and that she wants everyone back in Ipoh when she is about to go. Ah Ma don't want herself to be suffering as she has seen a lot of old people suffer in the old folks home in KL where my Godmom works 2weeks a month. Ah Ma don't want to trouble us and do not want to go to old folks home too that's why she wish that nature will takes its course when her time is up and don't send her to hospital to save her.

All of us went back 2 weekends ago to see her when she was in a coma. Last weekend, we went back for her funeral. There was no crying. Is not that we were heartless, we were relief that Ah Ma need not suffer anymore and that her wish to be in Nirvana has came true. The day Ah Ma passed away, is the birthday of the Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin), the day where Goddess of Mercy goes back to heaven, Ah Ma chose this day to follow Goddess of Mercy to heaven. We have previously prayed and asked Guan Yin whether she accepts Ah Ma, Guan Yin replied yes (there's a way for this to be done in Buddhism, but I'm not going to explain it here), and asked when will Guan Yin come and pick Ah Ma up, no answer for this. So, we guessed, Guan Yin came and pick up Ah Ma on her birthday.

After the cremation at Sam Poh Cave, Ipoh on Saturday, we went back the next morning, to collect the bones to be place into an urn and place at a place to place all this urn in Sam Poh Cave. After the helper sifted away the ashes and left those bones that is left behind from the cremation, we all picked up a pair of chopstick provided and start picking 'gold' (if you don't like the sound of 'bones' , we refer it as 'gold' :P ). As Ah Ma had osteoporosis, therefore we could really see that effects on the bones, those honeycomb structure. If Ah Ma has consumed medicine before her death, the bone marrow part will had a tint of colour, otherwise it will be pure white. Sounds like a CSI episode going on uh ~ All this bones picked were place into the urn. Teeth left behind will not be placed in, as chinese believe, if you place it in, Ah Ma will take away your wealth and food.. haha

Long before Ah Ma had pass away, she informed my mom and Godmom that, she will pay for all the expenses we used to travel to Ipoh to visit her and send her off to heaven. My Ah Ma, so kind ! I really wish she has found her peace in heaven.

With Ah Ma's passing, all of us came to Ipoh to see her one last time, and it was like a family reunion. We all talked and laugh, of course there was some teary eyed moments in between. I believe Ah Ma would want us to be happy and not too sad with her passing as she is able to join Ah Gong (grandpa) and her sisters in heaven now, and enjoy playing her mahjong.

Ah Ma... looking so happy... she said she waited very long for this tea since morning 5am +

Ah Ma's smiley face ...

Bye bye Ah Ma ~

: : : Small Steps to Greater Things : : :

Sigh ~ we haven't manage to get our Pre-Wedding shots project done. Haven't found a suitable model. We are suppose to do a casual shooting with this Caucasion Pro. model yesterday morning at 10am, and so thought why not have her as the pre-wedding project model as well. However when I reach Futagoza Studio, unfortunately Derrick informed that the model didn't turn up. Couldn't even reach her, called her mobile but no 1 answered >_<

At the end....I'm the lab rat (model) again........ Since I need to leave by 12.30pm and hurry back to my house to do a makeup for my ex-colleague for her graduation.. so I quickly made up myself and we just quickly did some test shots..... just to test out the lightings effect and wrap things up. Now, I am just waiting for Alan to email me the pics :P

I am now taking a small steps to greater things. I will be taking up the shoplot above Futagoza in Bdr Sg Long to be my professional makeup room other than my home base studio. It was previously rented by Futagoza, but since he has moved down to ground floor and the 1st floor unit is still empty for some time, the owner offered a good deal for us to start up our business. Having my own shop doing just only makeup alone might be hard, that is why the idea of working side by side with Futagoza at Bdr Sg Long appeals to me. Moreover, we are doing the Pre-Wedding photography package now, so having my own shop there would be better, I can store my wedding gowns there.. and have my client do the makeup at my own space instead of Derrick's and he needs to come and open his studio and wait for me to get things done.

Now, starting up business of any sort, small or big needs capital. I need my parents help on this. Hope they would borrow some $$ to start up my business.. and shall pay them back when the business is earning.

: : : Pre-Wedding Photos : : :

It is almost coming to a month since my wedding day. What have I been up to?

I am slowly editing & uploading my wedding day pictures onto facebook and after that I will move on to editing the photos to make it into a photobook.

I am bumming around during my free time at home while I am not making people up.

I have just did my 1st African girl makeup at Futagoza Studio. It was a good experince.

Preparing my Personal Makeup Workshop course outline.

Went to Beauty Expo 9 at PWTC 2 days ago to stock up on some products. Got myself a new pouch for my brushes like those MUA at M.A.C carrying around their hip/waist at a fraction of price, RM25 ! I saw STAGE Cosmetics selling similar items at RM125 ! Luckily I waited long enough to have gotten this sweet deal at Beauty Expo ! Got myself a Buy 1 Free 1 offer of Lip Palette with funky colours for me to play with, I just got 2 of the same palette since the other eyeshadow palette colours I already have. Stocked up on ampoules, fake lashes too. I am still contemplating whether to buy those fancy lashes like Shu Uemura is selling, at Shu the price goes up to RM200++ per pair, at Makeup Forever, RM60 & above, at the Beauty Expo, RM12 per pair, quality wise comparable !! I actually forgotten to get it, so I am thinking whether I should make that long trip back to PWTC today to get it, coz it is the last day. Also, thinking whether I should get a dummy head with longer real human hair for practise, price from RM20 onwards, while normal price at the shop can be starting from RM70 or RM100 onwards.

I would like to share some of my Pre-Wedding Photos here :)

: : : Michelle : : :

On the night of 27th Sept 2009, around 11.30pm++, when I was still up and busy on the internet.. I received a sms asking if I still do makeup for Futagoza Studio. I replied her yes and she called me afterwards. When she called, it was already pass midnight !

Apparently she was looking for places to do her modeling portfolio and she needed it urgently. She found the photographer from Futagoza and so she was looking for MUA, but she didn't know that I knew the photographer from Futagoza, Alan. Therefore, she actually contacted Alan to arrange for the studio and contacted me for the makeup part.. haha... I told her I will have to check with Alan or Derrick the next morning to confirm if they are available to do a shooting for her and she asked me who is better... lol.......

When I inform her the next morning that she can come for shooting later that same day and the photographer is Alan, she asked me whether is this Alan, 012-xxxxxxx ?? hahhaa... so funny ~

Anyway...... this is the pic of her ...

  : : : In The Speed Of Light : : :

Finally, it has all ended. In the speed of light, everything passed by so fast ! My wedding day has finally came and went.

Here is the newly wed, Myboy and I during the dinner march in. Photo courtesy from my lovely friends.

So what happens on the wedding day itself?

Morning Session ...

I was busy finishing the corsages for parents & grandparents & doing & undoing my nail colour the night before, I slept at about 1am++ and woke up at about 4.45am when my makeup artist called for direction !

I was getting my makeup & hairdo done for the next 2hours + while my friends, guys & girls came about 7am to prepare the 'stuff' for the games. What games? Games that the groom & his best men had to play to have their access from the main door to my house, up the staircase and to my room, where I'm waiting for my prince charming :P

I haven't get to see the videos of it yet, but what I heard from MyBoy was that they had to eat sandwiches with chunks of wasabi + ginger, it tasted soooooooooo bad the boys decided to give up and look for alternative, haha... the alternative was to pay $$$ =p, drank some really really sour juices ... answered some questions about me while going up the staircase and outside my room. The last task was to sing me a song. I couldn't really thought of a song while my bridesmaid asked me... in the end he sang 'Love Me Tender' by Elvis, which is pretty sweet, he sang it very nicely.. I love it *blush*

After that it was tea ceremony and we are off to his uncle's place for another tea ceremony with parents-in-law and his relatives.

Night Session....

This is where 101 things can go wrong happened ! Of course, there are merry moments as well.

1. Table No. was not arranged as shown in the floor plan confirmed and given to me earlier. So last minute changes has to be made

2. The cupcakes which were suppose to be arranged in a tier for cake cutting have been packed in cute little boxes with ribbons & butterflies & thank you tag placed on each seats ! So we used the dummy cake from the hotel instead, which is nice anyway.

3. We forgotten to bring the portable hard disk which contains the mp3 we're going to play during the dinner ! Realised that at about 6.30pm and MyBoy & his best man rushed home to get it.

4. We pray hard that it won't rain on that day. It is of utmost importance because our wedding reception was an outdoor event by the lake in the hotel ! However, it rained around 3pm++ and stop before 5pm ! It still drizzled a bit around 6pm+. But stopped when we wanted to start the event. Thank god ! The rain earlier actually cooled the night.

5. We arranged to have cocktail session about 5pm. Vox exchange 6pm and dinner at 7pm. All of my friends, family & relatives & his friends came around 5++, however, his relatives & parents came around 6++. So we can't start on time ! We finally started at about 7.30pm ! GOD ! I made my friends, family, relatives & his friends waited for 2hours + ! However, it can't be helped, because we forgotten about the hard disk thing in point 3 ! So I guess, it was all in place, as GOD planned, I suppose. Plus, it drizzled a bit around 6pm++, so if we did start at about 6pm, we would have to walk in the drizzle under an umbrella..... I guess, GOD knows best.

6. Both of us were busy saying Hi to our guests, still time is very limited. I couldn't even say Hi to my college friends while they came punctually at 5++. They came over to say bye and chat & took photos while I finished rounding tables of my brothers & uncles, high school friends, ex colleagues, xanga friends, MyBoy's friends and was about to make my way to the other side where they sat. I felt bad about it.

7. Other than all the hiccups, overall it was a great day we had on our wedding. It is great to see all the guests, especially my high school friends who came during the morning, and night and some helped me alot, big or small task. I appreciate my college friends who made their way to share my joy even though I informed them pretty late, around 3-4 days before the event !

8. I felt like a superstar because there were so much flashes going around when I was posing for photos with friends, family etc. Is really like a bunch of paparazi infront of you ! Even the hotel guests came and ask to take a photo of me or with me. I felt weird in a way and also flattered because they said I looked beautiful. The kids hold the lift for me when it was closing while I was about to reach it.

I am very happy with the work of the planner, Ms Seta. She really did a great job and gave us a very good deal. We were allowed to bring home all the fresh flowers on the tables except those in round. Initially she said will do a real + fake flower arrangement but she did it all with real flowers ! Initially we agreed to just put white paper lantern balls on the ceiling of the tent because it's a tedius job to have it sprayed in lilac/purple colour (and I wouldn't want to trouble her), but she put in white & purple colour too !

I am very happy to have dealt with Ms Isabella at Flamingo by the Lake, KL (which was the venue). She gave a good deal too and made good arrangements even though there is minor mistakes.

While we are here trying to get a cheap deal, what we did not know is the amount of work those people has to do to give us a wonderful night to remember. While all the guests have left and us went back to our suite, those hotel staffs were still busy cleaning up the place late into the night, midnight.

A very heartfelt thanks to all of those who have helped to made this happened !

My wonderful bunch of long time friends...... and xanga friend William (the guy alone at the table) who came very early, punctual.

Table centerpiece..

More photos will be coming up soon when I compile everything.
